Invasive pests hidden inside pallets, crates, and dunnage can have devastating consequences if released. To safeguard trade and natural resources, the USDA has approved a new method of phytosanitary treatment—mechanical destruction using shredders and hammermills. Schutte Hammermill played a critical role in developing and proving this process, and our equipment is nowspecified for use in USDA-approved systems for destroying wood packaging material at ports of entry and beyond.
