In 2001 Schutte Pulverizer Co., Inc purchased the assets of Buffalo Hammermill Corporation bringing together two companies with a combined 160 years of experience in the field of size reduction equipment design and manufacturing. The company has since operated as Schutte-Buffalo Hammermill.
Three years later in 2004, company President Thomas E. Warne and General Manager James N. Guarino purchased the company outright from retiring owner Harry D. Schutte.
